Jimmer in hospital.
Swindon RFC's young scrumhalf James (Jimmer) Courtney was rushed to the Radcliffe Infirmary in Oxford where it was confirmed he had Guillain Barre Syndrome (GBS).
This is a very serious condition which affects the immune and nervous systems.
After just over 4 months in hospital Jimmer has been allowed home to recover. He still has to go to hospital for blood checks but he is now well down the road to recovery.
So much so that he has made several apperances at the Club, walking in unaided and promptly trying to catch up on all the alcohol he has missed over the last 4 months.
A 6 a side football tournament was held to raise some funds to aid his recovery, the round ball specialisted raised a fantastic £2,500!!
The auction held on 12th June was a huge success - thanks must go to Tracey and Scott for their efforts.
Ray and Lynne would also like to thank the many people who have sent messages to Jimmer over the past few weeks.
