Come along and join in!

Just come along to the club at 9:50 for a 10 o'clock start on a Sunday morning. But see the relevant team's fixture list to make sure we are not playing away that week.

Why is joining Swindon Juniors a good idea?

  • Two hours of healthy fun every Sunday for about 40 weeks of the year.
(plus an optional hour of mid-week evening fitness training for some age groups)
  • Intellectual development in teamwork, leadership, communication, respect, motivation and self confidence.
  • Physical development in aerobic fitness, endurance, speed, strength, balance and hand-eye coordination.
  • The pleasure and pride gained from belonging to the team.
  • Instruction in the best game on the planet (we think) from our Rugby Football Union qualified coaches.

All this you get for less than £1 per week - and nobody will ask you for a penny for the first few weeks.
The only "special equipment" needed is a pair of boots (football boots are fine) and a mouth guard (currently £1.99 from Asda).

Appropriate footwear and clothing for training/playing:-

  • Shorts and/or tracksuit bottoms.
  • Training shirt, sweatshirt or similar.
  • Football or rugby socks and boots. Trainers may be suitable when grass is dry. Any screw-in studs must be aluminium rugby studs.
  • Gloves and hats may be worn. This is advisable for younger children if weather is particularly cold. Waterproof/windproof leggings and training tops are similarly a good idea but must have no metal zips or fastenings.
  • Any shoulder pads or head guards etc. must have the IRB approval label.
  • Mouth guards (gum shields) are strongly recommended for all age groups and compulsory for U9s and up.
  • Shin guards are recommended by the RFU.

In warm weather bring a non-fizzy drink.

Membership forms

You may find it useful to download this welcome pack in Microsoft Word format. This includes an annual membership form that you can print out and fill in, as well as other useful information. An RFU Youth Registration Form must also be competed for each child - but this is only needed once when the child first joins the club.

(If you don't have Microsoft Word, you can download Microsoft's free Word Viewer from here)

See you Sunday?
