This is the reference section of the Swindon Juniors web site. It provides links and information both about junior rugby in general and about Swindon Juniors in particular.

The Rugby Football Union sets the rules for rugby in England. For the junior age groups, the rules are changed in order to make the game more enjoyable and safe for the youngsters. Each age group has its own rules, and the game progresses from a very simple and relatively gentle tag rugby for the Under 7s and 8s up to a game that only differs in minor details from senior rugby for the Under 13s.

The Overview page will give you a rough guide to the rule changes. The official documents are quite readable and available on the RFU's site, but they keep moving them, and the last time I looked navigating that part of the site was confusing. So copies of the rule books are available from this site - see the Overview page.

By the way, the Welsh and English Unions use different rules for the juniors (well they would wouldn't they?) If you are interested, here is a copy of the Welsh rules for Junior Rugby (2007/8). The main differences seem to be that the Welsh let them kick sooner and make them wait longer before they can push in the scrums.

F A Q is a list of Frequently Asked Questions for Swindon Juniors.

Getting Started provides some basic information about junior rugby and tells you all you need to know to come along and join in. This includes a membership application form.

Rugby is just for boys right? NO! Junior Girls explains.

Tips from the Coach is a piece aimed at current players.

The Opposition is a page providing directions and maps to most of the clubs against which Swindon Juniors play. There are also links to their web sites.

Which Team? is a calculator to work out which team a player should be in based on a date of birth.

The Web Site gives some general information about this web site.

We have an A4 size sheet of eight A6 size flyers that you can print off, cut up and leave lying around anywhere you like.

The club has a development plan which describes how the club is seeking to develop in the medium and long term.

This is a poster that advertises our open mornings in 2008.

Click on it and a high resolution image will open.

Please print and display as many as you like.

These two images go front and back on a sheet (A4 probably best) to make a 3 flap brochure.

Again, click on each in turn to get the hi-res images and then print a few double-sided to leave lying around in public places.

Thanks!
